He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (1979) and a Master’s Degree (LLM) in Criminal Procedure Law from PUC/SP.
He joined the magistrature on January 22, 1982, and retired as Magistrate Judge of the São Paulo Court of Justice on April 6, 2016.
He was a Law Judge in the Courts of Nuporanga, 1st Circuit Court of Mogi Mirim, Jury Court and Criminal Executions of Campinas and, finally, Law Judge of the 1st Court of the Family and Successions and of the 11th Central Criminal Court of the City of São Paulo.
In 2004, he was promoted to the position of Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals; on December 31, 2004, with Constitutional Amendment 45 in effect, he was promoted to the position of Magistrate Judge of the Court of Appeals, integrating the 17th Chamber of Public Law and later the 4th and 11th Criminal Chambers.
In 2016 and 2017, he was President of the Criminal Law Section and member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary.
